Will and Rayne met at a bus stop. The two had just begun classes at UTSA for their M.A. in Philosophy. They both arrived at school an hour early for their class and parked in the last lot UTSA has (hence the need to be transported to campus by shuttle). Will arrived at the bus stop first and was reading A Short Introduction to Existentialism. When Rayne arrived at the bus stop, he picked his head up and greeted her with a "hello" before returning to his book.

The (front exiting) bus arrived and Will politely told Rayne she could get on first. However, when she got on the bus she was met with a line of people staring at her (because they were waiting to be let off the bus whose exit she was now blocking) and a yelling bus driver (because Rayne was not supposed to get on the bus yet- Ben is the bus driver's name and he is now a good friend of the couple). As she embarrassingly shuffled off the bus, she turned to Will and said "so you set me up".

Aware she now had to talk to him because it was just too awkward to wait in silence while the long line of bus riders exited, she pointed to the book (A Short Introduction to Existentialism) in his hand and said "so existentialism, huh?". Will replied explaining he was starting his M.A. in Philosophy. And Rayne explained she was too. The pair sat next to one another on the bus and realized they were headed to the same class.

Afterwards, the two began a friendship of proof-reading one another's papers, sharing library study rooms, and eating together between classes. Eventually, Will asked Rayne out on a date. Now, he edits all of her papers and she assists in his lectures.
